Site Preparation

Sturdi-Bilt is not responsible for site preparation.

Sturdi-Bilt buildings are built using either 4 x 4 or 4 x 6 treated foundation runners. If your desired location is reasonably level, no further site preparation is necessary as we provide 4 x 8 x 16 solid concrete blocks on which the building is placed. We typically space these block no more than 8’ apart. On larger buildings, a spacing of approximately 6’ apart is desired.

Sometimes a concrete foundation is desired rather a wooden floor. We will provide anchor bolt location and sizing details to the concrete contractor of your choice or ask Sturdi-Bilt for a recommended contractor.

Another good option is to remove approximately 3-6 inches of soil and install a base material. It is recommended that this base is 12’ larger on each side than the building size, supported by treated timbers. Ask about referral for project.
